Relaxing at home...

Last night we had a lovely evening with my partner and his girls playing uno. I haven't played uno since I was younger, and we had so much fun. Drinking wine with loved ones and the kids and playing games is a lovely way to spend a Friday night. My cheeks were hurting by the end of the game from laughing so much!

Another thing I love is coming home to my cozy house to relax after a hard day's work! Here's a nice pic of my partner relaxing playing guitar while I cook us up a yummy Prawn and chorizo paella : )

Teapots and Chess.....

I love the feeling of finding a bargain in an op-shop!

Yesterday i found a 'Lotte' Norwegian tea pot from a collection I am sourcing for $8. It is worth a friend tells me, around $80.... i love teapots.

Then the other night driving home my partner and I stumbled across some great hard rubbish, a handmade wooden chess coffee table! This just happened to occur the night after we had watched a late night SBS french film about a woman who was a poor cleaner in France and fell in love with the Doctor at a house she was cleaning and they began a love affair over chess. She then went on to win lots of money at Chess tournaments around France....

anyway back to the story... So everything was telling me I should play Chess... all that was missing were the chess pieces. So today, my partner and I hit another op-shop, this time in Heidelberg, and what do i find, a container filled with Chess pieces!

I felt complete... and we spent the afternoon in the garden reacquainting ourselves with the game I played growing up with my grandfather.

what a lovely afternoon : )

Color and pattern...

I am currently working on a logo for a friend's PR business and I am looking for inspiration on geometric patterns - I came accross this book by Kapitza, its really bright and colorful and full of amazing patterns....two things which make me smile ; )

The last few days in Melbourne have been really hot. Today brought a cooler change and to celebrate I made myself a nice cup of tea. Not any cup of tea of course but one in my cute pink vintage tea pot which I picked up for $10 at Camberwell market a few months ago. It makes yummy cups of tea, and makes me smile too... perfection!

Today I post a quote which I find very true and valid for the start of a new year. A reminder that if we want to make something happen we can make it happen, but not by sitting back and doing nothing! Let's all start the year by setting some goals and making them happen, so that by this time next year we can reflect and realise just how far we have come.....

A hot summer day...

After spending a lot of my childhood growing up in the beautiful paradise of Noosa heads on the Sunshine Coast, I crave warm summer days. Today Melbourne turned up the heat to 40 degrees and it really feels like Summer! One of my favorite things I love doing in Summer is relaxing on the beach, but seeing as I couldn't hit the beach today I hit the next best thing, the Pool. Not the same, but a plunge in the cold water, feeling the sun on my skin, and eating an icypole sure did the trick.

The thing i love most...

Here i sit, on the first day of the year, starting my blog. I have wanted to do this for a long time and thought the first day of the year is a good time to start. So here it goes... my aim is to just blog about beautiful things i love that inspire me in daily life.

I'll start the year off with the thing i love MOST of all in the world, my beautiful amazing daughter Iris. She is 4 and absolutely the biggest inspiration in my life!
